Of the many benefits a mini facelift can offer, a shorter recovery compared to a traditional facelift is certainly one of the most attractive for our patients at Richmond Aesthetic Surgery. However, since a mini facelift is still a surgical procedure, Dr. Neil J. Zemmel always recommends giving your body the appropriate time to fully heal and recover. During the consultation process, he will give you detailed recovery instructions to maximize your safety and comfort immediately following your mini facelift procedure.
Almost all mini facelift patients return to their homes the same day as surgery. Discomfort is normal but typically mild, and any pain can be easily managed with oral medication. Compared to a traditional facelift, swelling and bruising is minimal for this procedure due to the less invasive surgical approach. Dr. Zemmel recommends patients keep their head elevated as much as possible to facilitate the healing process.
Most mini facelift patients feel very comfortable within a couple days. After about one week, the stitches can be removed, and patients often notice their results begin to take shape – about half the time of a traditional facelift recovery. Some patients may experience slight facial numbness, though this sensation should disappear within two weeks. At any point during the recovery process, Dr. Zemmel is available to address concerns that may arise and answer your questions.
